This was my mini Mac haul!
I worked up the courage to go into the Mac shop in Nottingham, and
one of the assistants came up to me to see if I needed help and
normally, me being me, I would have said “NO THANKS I’M JUST LOOKING”
but I actually said erm erm erm yeah I’m looking for some new
foundation. So she asked me a few questions, my skin type and whether I
prefer matte or satin and those kinda things, and she said would I like
her to try a patch out, so I said yes please!

So she tried a few patches
on my jawline and figured that my shade was a more yellow base than
what she tried, so she settled on NC15, which I think is one of the
lightest shades, but I am pretty pale. She managed to upsell some powder to me too, she tried two and the
one I chose was just a bit warmer, and that was the medium plus. I then
had a little look around and she came back again and suggested the….
things for putting on the powder (the word escapes me at this point in
time!). When I got to the till she also suggested the pump, which I was
going to ask about anyway! It was only about 2 or 3 quid, I think in
total I spent about £40-45, which is alright really, I was expecting
more. In fact when she first said the amount I was sure she said £105
and I almost pooed myself!

I tried them out yesterday morning and well…. I liked it. The
foundation smelt nice, was a good consistency, went on well and wasn’t
sticky. I only needed one coat and it covered all my sins! Normally I
have to apply extra to my discoloured nose and the bags under my eyes
but this did it all in one. I’m used to putting a fair bit of powder on
to soak up the stickiness of foundation but I really didn’t need to put a
lot on, in fact I think I put too much on, today I’ll only put a tad on
my nose or t-zone.
It lasted all day, I kept going to check in the mirror at work and
none had worn off and I didn’t even have to retouch my nose! The best
thing is that normally my nose looks all cakey and awful because I have
rhinitis and am always wiping my nose, but even this lasted pretty well.
Excellent!
The last picture if probably the only photo you’ll ever see of me without eye make up, but that was skin yesterday.
My first real venture into more high end products! It's exciting. Do you remember the first thing you bought that started your love for make up?
